"Stained Glass" with Tissue Paper
This was so fun to make, and easy even for my 2-year-old. The final product looks like stained glass and is especially pretty in a window sill!
Here's what you need:
Cardboard
Acrylic paint - one color
Plastic wrap
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Colored tissue paper
Elmer's glue
Glass Beads (optional)
Here's what you do:
1. Cut your cardboard into a rectangle, then cut out the center of the rectangle, forming a "frame".
2. Paint your frame and let it dry.
3. Turn over "frame" to unpainted side and glue a piece of plastic wrap to edges using hot glue gun (don't use Elmers for this, it will take forever to dry). Trim edges of plastic wrap so it doesn't hang over the edge of your frame.
4. Tear tissue into small, interesting shaped pieces.
5. Place frame on table with painted side down. Glue tissue paper onto plastic wrap using Elmer's glue. You can add some glass beads too!
6. Let art dry overnight and put in a window. Sit back and admire its beauty!
