Yummy Chocolate Pretzels
Yummmm. Chocolate-covered pretzels are a hit year-round, but they're especially good at the holidays. AND they're really easy to make with kids!! Plus, if you have any of those silicone ice cube trays, you can make chocolates too!
Here's what you need:
1-2 bags of milk chocolate chips
1 bag of pretzel rods
Wax paper
Cookie sheet
Decorative sugar/sprinkles/etc (optional)
Silicone ice cube trays (optional)
Here's what you do:
1. Melt the chocolate. I used a double-boiler, but it will work ok without one too.
2. Scoop chocolate onto one or two plates for the kids to dip into.
3. Let the kids roll the pretzel rods into the chocolate, then place onto wax paper-covered cookie sheet.
4. Sprinkle with the decorative sugars if you want.
5. Stick 'em in the fridge for about an hour and you're done.
6. While you've got a bunch of melted chocolate, slap some into your silicone ice cube trays.
7. Put the ice cube tray in the fridge for an hour or so, take it out, and pop the chocolates out. I only have heart-shaped ones, so mine turned out more Valentinesy than Christmasey. But they still taste good!
